Composed of a number of segments, Poetry and Arts includes a reading of a Paul Lawrence Dunbar poem by Elma Lewis (Director of the National Center of Afro-American Artists) to a group of young children, an excerpt from an interview with poet Nikki Giovanni, a tutorial on getting published, an editorial on the "state of the arts" by House Representative Louis Stokes (Ohio), and a listing of new volumes of poetry of interest to the African American community.
