- Description
- Episode Description
- Ten years after her Pulitzer Prize winning novel The Color Purple became a major motion picture, Alice Walker has written about the tribulations and wisdom of the experience in her memoir The Same River Twice: Honoring the Difficult. In a candid interview, Walker shares these challenges with guest interviewer Sara Lawrence-Lightfoot, sociologist, author, and professor of education at Harvard University. The years-old friends share the pain and joy of mothers and daughters, lovers and betrayal, politics and creativity, spirituality and nature.
