Episode Description
This episode is a reversion featuring segments from previous episodes as well as new segments. The episode begins with the Making herstory segment, a rebroadcast of a segment about the Lesbian Herstory Archives in Brooklyn, which originally aired as a part of episode 901. The Comic strip heroes segment is a rebroadcast of a segment about comics artists Jennifer Camper and Howard Cruse, originally from episode 502. The In the news covers a God's Love We Deliver benefit, a stage reading of Caged featuring Isabella Rossellini and Varla Jean Merman, the Harlem United Community AIDS Center, and Broadway stars at the Apollo. The Same-sex Shakespeare segment is from episode 801, and is about R&J, an all-male adaptation of Romeo & Juliet, and the LA Women's Shakespeare Co.'s all-women production of Hamlet. The Dancing for life segment features excerpts from the Dancers & AIDS segment from episode 903, profiling choreographers Chris Ramos and David Rousseve, as well as the Dancers Responding to AIDS organization. The In the arts segment covers Tales of the city author Thomas Glave, while the Maverick musician segment spotlights Billy Tipton. The Patience & Sarah segment, taken from episode 801, is about the opera. PSAs include Alec Mapa discussing Archives, Jeanie Cunningham talking about HIV, and Mark Christopher on AIDS.
